The Asset Management and Maintenance Journal is published in Australia and reaches over 120 countries in the Southern Hemisphere. Editor Len Bradshaw wrote to say "I read with interest your article "Motivating Maintenance Craftsmen - do we know what we're doing?" published in the ME magazine vol9 issue 2. I wish to seek your permission to publish your article in a future issue of the AMMJ." The article is now published in the June 2009 edition of AMMJ. Clearly the issue of motivation has rarely been addressed in the maintenance environment, yet has a major impact on performance and outcomes. Perhaps organisations are now waking up to the fact that care and concern for maintenance and the craftsmen that execute the work can bring long term performance and financial benefits with the right approach.
