A case study on when outsourcing goes wrong will examine the history of Railtrack, citing maintenance outsourcing as being a major factor in its demise.

The second focusses on the development of utility network contracts from typically schedule of rates to asset based performance contracts. Risk and accountability, together with contract development and management will form a core part of the day, together with a case study on their application in a complex environment, water supply networks.
